UGA University Theatre / Atlanta’s 7 Stages
Media Director
As promoter of the initial concept and Media Director, HM 2007 was my “proof of concept” piece for my research into the media actor. Produced as a collaboration between UGA University Theatre and Atlanta’s 7 Stages Theatre, HM 2007 was directed by Del Hamilton and featured the UGA Graduate Acting troupe as well as Assistant Professor Mirla Criste.
Below are samples of the publicity I did for this production. An article in the local Shifting Scenes was also published for this production.

This 2004 production of Hamletmachine represents my Masters thesis project, researching the role of media agency on the stage. You may access the thesis portfolio paper here.
pal.Hamlet
pal.Hamlet was the virtual double of live actor Norman Ferguson, who played Hamlet in our remediated production of Hamletmachine. The concept behind this production was that Hamlet himself was split, his personality fragmented, and the negative forces within him manifested themselves as pal.Hamlet, a virtual Doppelgänger who lived in Hamlet’s mind. pal.Hamlet drives Hamlet when he is unable to act for himself, driving him to the darker actions of the play, including the rape of his mother.
For our production, I led the media team charged with bringing pal.Hamlet to life. As the main focus of my research into Posthuman Theatre, I saw pal.Hamlet as an example of the acting machine, an animated avatar driven by the action onstage.
More information about the production can be seen here.
